Beauty Of The Cross

Never have I gazed upon such beauty

Beauty bore out of sacrifice

A sacrifice so unsightly

Unsightly as it bore a curse

A curse as He was hung on a tree

A tree where the King was hung

A Master became the Servant

A Shepherd, a Lamb

A gentle Lamb slain so that I

I, a slave would be free

Free from the bondage

The bondage of sin, death and self-righteousness

Righteousness regenerated by the Blood

The Blood that begot me

Me, a new man redeemed by Grace

Grace that abounds through the beauty.

The beauty of Christ’s death on the Cross.
